S. Klein and B. Dennig Present an Independent Study at the BHB Garden Summit

Over the next few weeks, research from GIM will be attending all kinds of events where they will be reporting on current studies by the Institute and on research issues in general.

Senior Research Manager Benjamin Dennig and Senior Research Manager Sebastian Klein will be contributing to the 3rd “Garden Summit” of the German Association of DIY Stores with Garden Centres (BHB) in the coming week (7th September).

They will be presenting exclusive results of a current independent GIM study on “Gardeners” at the Gardening Summit in Cologne. A typology of different gardener ‘types’ (consumers) based on a quantitative-qualitative research design will form the heart of the study. The talk is entitled “Ausweitung der Kampfzone” (borrowing from the novel by Michel Houellebecq, the literal translation of which reads “Extension of the combat zone”), and alludes to the trend by which the garden is increasingly understood as an extension of the living space.

The BHB Garden Summit will take place on 6th and 7th September in Cologne at the Congress Center North, Kölnmesse.

If you are interested in the results of the study, please get in touch with Benjamin Dennig, Sebastian Klein or Clemens Breuninger (as of 8th September, as this is an exclusive presentation of the study in Cologne).

Colleagues will of course be happy to answer any other questions concerning “Home and Gardens” in the meantime.
