Interview with GIM FMCG expert on „SWR 2 Forum“
From “All under one roof” to “Everything must go”. The classic hypermarket seems to be dated. Woolworth and Hertie teeter on the brink of insolvency, Arcandor, the parent company of Karstadt is trying to survive the economic recession. For many years now, hypermarkets were losing market share in favor of shopping malls, specialist retailers and discounters.
On April 24, 5.05 pm, Dr. Gerhard Keim, division manager at GIM will discuss the problematic future of hypermarkets. As a market researcher for FMCG, Gerhard Keim is constantly dealing with the purchase behavior of today’s consumers. Further participants in the live talk will be Eckhard Fuhr, head of the feuilleton of the newspapers "Welt" / "Welt am Sonntag" / "Berliner Morgenpost" and Prof Dr Joachim Zentes, economist at the university of Saarbrücken.
