    The art side of GIM

Past Saturday during the Night of Museums, visitors were invited to enjoy GIM as a gallery, an auction house and a live art studio.

NachtderMuseen2In the early evening, curious and expectant visitors started to crowd the GIM corridors. On their tour through the house, they were accompanied by the exhibiting artists Peter Robert Keil and René Kaufmann. “I think the fusion of these two artists who have such different styles is brilliant”, a visitor states.

Many enthused visitors participated in the auction of three pieces by Peter Robert Keil and René Kaufmann. GIM donated the complete proceeds to the non-profit youth NachtderMuseen3organisation Jugendhof e.V. and the “generation house” in Heidelberg-Rohrbach.

The highlight of the evening was the live art performance by René Kaufmann at GIM’s atmospheric cellar rooms. Under the heading ”Destroy a Keil yourself“, René Kaufmann turned one of the pieces by Peter Robert Keil into a completely new and abstract structure by using specially made colour and tool constructions.

”For one night, GIM turned into a place of art“, Wilhelm Kampik, managing director of GIM said, “on Monday, we will resume our work as market researchers again. However, the Keil collection will of course continue to adorn our GIM rooms!“
