New Values and Trends in Germany

„Less I – more WE“ – this is one of  the five prospective basic orientations that will prevail in Germany. The book „Vision 2017 – Was Menschen morgen bewegt“ that has just been released describes the effects this value change has on our society, on companies and on the individual.

In 2007, GIM discussed with more than 40 scientists and industry experts the value development in Germany and six further countries. The results are coherent statements and hard facts regarding future trends that may serve as an orientation for companies and interested laymen.

The study is focussing on the following questions: What will become really important to people, what will move them tomorrow? How will people act in an ever-changing society? How much does the change in society affect people’s aspirations and desires and what effects does this have on their future consumption behaviour?

The book provides prognoses for the future and describes values that will predominate in the coming 10 years. It does not just focus on Germany but also draws international comparisons, among others between Western Europe, USA and Russia.

For further information please contact the authors Dr. Kerstin Ullrich and Dr. Christian Wenger or visit the Delphi2017-Homepage.

An excerpt of the study’s results for Germany is available on demand if you contact Verena Konrad.

The book has been published by Redline Wirtschaft Verlag and can be purchased through the publisher or directly through GIM. So far it is only available in German.
